Ni Hao, Kai-lan

Monday, September 14th, 2009

Ni Hao, Kai-lan is a TV show on Nickelodeon that has been tearing up the airwaves since debuting in February.

Ni Hao, Kai-lan is being called the Chinese version of Dora the Explorer, the very successful and popular show here in America.

It has spawned movies, many toys, costumes and all the trappings that come with popular shows. There has been talk of a movie recently, and it’s sure to be out by the end of the year.

We have started to carry a lot of the new toys, and they are very popular. They are sure to be one of the hottest toys around come Christmastime.

The great thing about this show is that in addition to being a fun show, it’s a learning experience, allowing children to learn Mandarin Chinese in addition to being amused.

H.R. Pufnstuf

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

Recently I got to thinking about 1970’s Saturday Morning cartoons.
I’m not old enough to remember any of the cartoons from back then firsthand, but after doing some research, I’d have to say the best 1970’s Saturday Morning cartoon was H.R. Pufnstuf.
For my money, any show where the main character is a helpful dragon named H.R. Pufnstuf, you just can’t go wrong.

American Idol

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

Another week of American Idol is about to begin and this season has been one of the most exciting ones.
From the star studded performers, to the addition of a new judge, it seems that every week has a twist or turn just around the bend.
And of course, it’s always worth it to tune in just to see what Simon will say next.
There are only five performers left and with the big names that have been trotted out so far, it should be interesting to see what happens this week!
